Sweden’s contribution to the total global emissions is relatively small. However, the country’s economy and technology allow for ambitious climate targets to be set, both nationally and internationally. Hopefully, the outcomes of COP26 will be of benefit to those communities most vulnerable.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) published its 6th Assessment Report on the physical science of climate change on 9 August 2021. The latest report builds on 5-years of research which considers over 14,000 scientific papers and has been reviewed by 234 leading scientists from 66 countries.

With challenging climate change targets being set in place by the UK Government to reduce emissions by 78% by 2035 compared to 1990 levels, acting now has never been more important for UK organisations in a bid to ready themselves for the work required. This will involve setting realistic goals, outlining strategies, and implementing these in line with Government targets.
