Czech Energy Pricing Trends - 15 Jan. 2021

CO2 price (Dec-21) fell by 1,23 EUR/t WoW to level 33,53 EUR/t and today decreasing trend continues along with big volatility. Brent price (Mar21) continued in growth and increased by 2,04 USD/bbl WoW to 56,42 USD/bbl, however today´s trend is decreasing. Coal API (Feb21) increased by 4,7 USD/t WoW to 72,4 USD/t. Since huge price spikes on Tuesday, general energy mix is sliding down. Today the whole energy mix continues with corrections including electricity market.
Spot gas price spiked on Tuesday close to 25,00 EUR/MWh level, but since then price corrected, however still hovering above 20,00 EUR/MWh level. Weather in Europe will be main driver in coming days and weeks along with Asian LNG demand.
