25 Jan 2021
Czech Energy Market | 22 Jan. 2021
CO2 price (Dec-21) fell by 1,23 EUR/t WoW to level 33,53 EUR/t and today decreasing trend continues along with big volatility. Brent price (Mar21) decreased by 0,32 USD/bbl WoW to 56,1 USD/bbl and today price is declining further. Coal API (Feb21) decreased by 5,2 USD/t WoW to 66,2 USD/t. We continue to observe very high volatility, especially on near curve electricity market, supported by intermittent renewables generation, tight gas market and volatile CO2 market. Feb and March 21 products respond strongly to any weather outlook changes and SPOT market. Energy market continues to be in the tow of the financial market which lives in very bullish times, despite real economy does not seem to reflect optimism of financial market. First EUA (CO2) auction this year scheduled for next week will show if current EUA price reflect the market reality.
