France Power Pricing Trends | 1 March 2021
The downward trends in gas prices and CO2 emissions associated with mild temperatures (particularly at the beginning of the period) led to a decrease of 0.17 €/MWh in the average weekly price of CAL 22, from 53.43 €/MWh to 53.26 €/MWh. However, this decrease did not benefit CAL 23, whose average weekly price increased by 0.21 €/MWh from 51.10 €/MWH to 51.31 €/MWh.
France Natural Gas Pricing Trends | 1 March 2021
The drop in demand (residential and electricity production) due to rising temperatures and the drop in LNG prices (drop in Asian demand) led to a drop in spot prices and in the CAL 22 product, whose average weekly price dropped by 0.19 €/MWh from 16.76 €/MWh to 16.57 €/MWh. Like electricity, CAL 23 does not benefit from this decrease and sees its price increase by 0.06 €/MWH (16.07 to 16.13 €/MWh).
France Oil Pricing Trends | 1 March 2021
The price of Brent has once again increased on average weekly (+1.73 €/bbl) from 52.50 €/bblto 54.22 €/bbl. However, a decrease was noted on Friday partly due to the strengthening of the dollar and profit taking. In the coming weeks, its evolution will depend not only on demand, but also, and to a large extent, on the decisions expected from OPEC.
