France Power Pricing Trends | 11 April 2023
The power market rose last week. The price of Baseload CAL24 peaked at €236.10/MWh on Monday, its highest level for several months. Afterwards, the market corrected but the price of the same product hovered around €220/MWh. This reflects the concerns of market players regarding the respect of the scheduled maintenance of EDF's nuclear fleet. The weekly average price increased from 206.07 €/MWh to 223.46 €/MWh for CAL 2024 and
decreased from 132.62 €/MWh to 143.51 €/MWh for CAL 2025.
France Natural Gas Pricing Trends | 11 April 2023
After a week of rising prices due to speculative behaviour by players closing their positions, the natural gas market corrected last week. In France, the continued blockage of LNG import terminals is forcing cargo ships to send gas to neighboring countries. Despite this diversions, LNG supply to Europe is expanding, and European gas stocks remain high for the season. The weekly average price rose from 53.06 €/MWh to 57.47 €/MWh for CAL 2024 and from 44.71 €/MWh to 48.17 €/MWh for CAL 2025.
France Oil Pricing Trends | 11 April 2023
The price of Brent crude oil rose last week. On Tuesday, OPEC+ members announced a production cut from May 2023, in order to halt the decline in oil prices seen in March. The weekly average price of Brent crude oil
increased from 72.25 €/bbl to 77.81 €/bbl.
