France Power Pricing Trends | 11 September 2023

The power market fell last week as nuclear generation continued to improve at the start of the month. The availability of France's nuclear fleet currently stands at 41.1 GW. It should reach 45 GW by mid-September.  The weekly average price fell from 150.72 €/MWh to 136.80 €/MWh for CAL 2024 and from 135.43 €/MWh to 127.13 €/MWh for CAL 2025.

The natural gas market fell last week.  Although strikes at Chevron's LNG facilities in Australia began last Friday, the market is easing in view of the near-full level of natural gas stocks in Europe (93.94% of stocks filled). The weekly average price decreased from 53.54 €/MWh to 51.40 €/MWh for CAL 2024 and from 47.66 €/MWh to 47.28 €/MWh for CAL 2025.
