The power market followed the natural gas trend last week. For several days now, EDF and the French government have been trying to reach agreement on a new model for regulating electricity prices in the run-up to the end of the ARENH tariff on 31 December 2025. The government would like the new reference price for electricity to be close to EDF's nuclear production costs, estimated at 60 MWh by the CRE, while EDF would like to sell its nuclear power at around €70/MWh. Negotiations are said to be nearing a conclusion... We will keep you informed as soon as any official announcement is made.
