France Energy Pricing Trends - 13 November 2023

France Power Pricing Trends | 13 November 2023

The power market followed the natural gas trend last week. For several days now, EDF and the French government have been trying to reach agreement on a new model for regulating electricity prices in the run-up to the end of the ARENH tariff on 31 December 2025. The government would like the new reference price for electricity to be close to EDF's nuclear production costs, estimated at 60 MWh by the CRE, while EDF would like to sell its nuclear power at around €70/MWh. Negotiations are said to be nearing a conclusion... We will keep you informed as soon as any official announcement is made. The weekly average price fell from 124.44 €/MWh to 118.94 €/MWh for CAL 2024 and from 114.29 €/MWh to 112.52 €/MWh for CAL 2025.

France Natural Gas Pricing Trends | 13 November 2023

The average price of natural gas on the market fell, despite a slight upward movement at the end of the week. Unseasonably mild temperatures, high levels of wind-generated electricity and falling demand for natural gas
from industry are keeping the price of CAL 24 TTF below €50/MWh. European stocks are 99.6% full. The weekly average price decreased from 50.50 €/MWh to 47.71 €/MWh for CAL 2024 and from 45.44 €/MWh to 43.99 €/MWh for CAL 2025.

France Oil Pricing Trends | 13 November 2023

After falling steadily for several days, Brent closed higher on Friday evening. Market players are hedging against the risks of the Middle East conflict and anticipating further production cuts by OPEC+ members.  The weekly average price of Brent crude oil decreased from 80.74 €/bbl to 76.22 €/bbl.
