France Power Pricing Trends | 14 March 2022
The electricity futures market rose last week. The price of electricity is pulled by fossil fuel trends. There was a downward movement in the middle of the week. However, compared to natural gas and oil, the drawing down of electricity prices is limited by the rise in the price of CO2. Average weekly prices rose from 191.81 €/MWh to 210.91 €/MWh for CAL 2023 & from 119.41 €/MWh to 123.52 €/MWh for CAL 2024.
France Natural Gas Pricing Trends | 14 March 2022
The natural gas futures market continued its bullish trajectory last week. Prices soared earlier in the week after the announcement of the US embargo on Russian combustibles. As European countries didn’t follow suit, natural gas prices then fell sharply on Wednesday and Thursday. Price volatility is extreme, entirely dependent on geopolitical developments. Average weekly prices rose from 72.86€/MWh to 75.86 €/MWh for CAL 2023 & from 44.95 €/MWh to 48.32 €/MWh for CAL 2024.
France Oil Pricing Trends | 14 March 2022
Brent prices rose last week. Market participants remain on alert for any further embargos on Russian oil barrels. The slow progress of negotiations with Iran leaves little hope of reversing this trend. The average weekly price of Brent grew from 98.97 €/bbl to 107.18 €/bbl.
