France Power Pricing Trends | 16 August 2021
Last week was marked by a surge in electricity prices on the futures market. The 2022 Baseload Cal reached a new price record last Thursday at €85.89/MWh. This is caused by the equally bullish trends in the natural gas, coal and carbon markets. By mid-week, CO2 was trading above €57.00/t. The average weekly price moved from 79.51 €/MWh to 83.89 €/MWh for CAL 2022 and 65.18 €/MWh to 68.17 €/MWh for CAL 2023.
France Natural Gas Pricing Trends | 16 August 2021
To date, European gas stocks are only 60% full, i.e. 16 points less than the average of the last 5 years at the same time. The risk of shortages in the event of extreme cold next winter is felt. The situation is more tense as the supply of natural gas and LNG remains limited in Europe. Average weekly prices surged from 28.67 €/MWh to 31.64 €/MWh for CAL 2022 and from 20.82 €/MWh to 22.20 €/MWh for CAL 2023.
France Oil Pricing Trends | 16 August 2021
The oil market held up last week. The spread of the Delta variant around the world is holding back the prospects for growth and oil demand. The average weekly price of Brent decreased from 60.26 €/bbl to 60.14 €/bbl.
