The electricity market fell last week. In France, nuclear production is improving, reaching a total active capacity of 45 GW last Thursday. In addition, wind production is on the rise. However, it will be necessary to monitor the effects of upcoming industrial action on France’s means of production. The weekly average price decreased from 229.31 €/MWh to 198.54 €/MWh for CAL 2024 and from 171.32 €/MWh to 150.96 €/MWh for CAL 2025
France Natural Gas Pricing Trends | 16 January 2023
The natural gas market declined last week. Demand for natural gas is low, natural gas stocks are at their highest for the period since 2019 (82% on average Europe-wide). Market participants are confident despite an incipient cold wave taking effect in Europe. The weekly average price shrank from 72.79 €/MWh to 70.08 €/MWh for CAL 2024 and from 58.60 €/MWh to 56.60 €/MWh for CAL 2025.
France Oil Pricing Trends | 16 January 2023
The price of Brent rose last week. Chinese demand for oil is picking up again, mainly in their transportation sector in view of the Chinese New Year this weekend. The weekly average price of Brent crude oil increased from 76.16 €/bbl to 76.51 €/bbl.
