France Natural Gas Pricing Trends | 16 October 2023

The natural gas market rose sharply last week. Market panic following the start of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the resumption of strikes at LNG export plants in Australia from 18 October, and a breakdown in a gas pipeline linking Finland to Estonia (an act of sabotage cannot be ruled out). In Europe, demand for natural gas is beginning to grow, and is at its highest level for two months. The weekly average price increased from 45.05 €/MWh to 52.64 €/MWh for CAL 2024 and from 43.33 €/MWh to 47.36 €/MWh for CAL 2025.

France Oil Pricing Trends | 16 October 2023

Brent crude rose at the end of the week as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict intensified. The market fears that the situation in the Middle East could escalate, despite the fact that the region accounts for a third of the world's oil supply. The weekly average price of Brent crude oil increased from 82.90 €/bbl to 82.94 €/bbl.
