France Power Pricing Trends | 17 May 2022
The electricity futures market rose sharply last week. French nuclear production is at the heart of all concerns. The phenomenon of corrosion observed in many reactors could cause a shortage of electricity next winter. The French Nuclear Safety Authority is expected to communicate on this in the coming days. The weekly average price has risen from 278.27 €/MWh to 304.22 €/MWh for CAL 2023 and from 202.13 €/MWh to 213.42 €/MWh for CAL 2024.
France Natural Gas Pricing Trends | 17 May 2022
Natural gas prices have fallen in the past week. The massive inflow of Russian gas has allowed European gas stocks to be filled to seasonally high levels (38.10% capacity to date). However, the market remains very volatile and reacts strongly to announcements of reduced Russian flows to targeted countries, or new international sanctions against Russia. The weekly average price fell slightly from 75.83 €/MWh to 74.54 €/MWh for CAL 2023 and rose from 61.44 €/MWh to 58.56 €/MWh for CAL 2024.
France Oil Pricing Trends | 17 May 2022
After a drop at the beginning of last week, linked to the length of the implementation of the Russian oil embargo at European level, oil prices have risen again. Short and medium term supply tensions remain very real. The weekly average price of Brent crude oil fell from 103.50 €/bbl to 101.09€/bbl.
