France Power Pricing Trends | 18 October 2022
The power market rose last week. Despite the return to service of three reactors, nuclear production in France remains unstable. Since Thursday, a strike has disrupted the return of eight other reactors to the grid. Its duration and possible spread to other nuclear facilities could jeopardise the security of electricity supply this winter. The weekly average price rose from 530.22 €/MWh to 545.36 €/MWh for CAL 2023 and from 265.62 €/MWh to 283.72 €/MWh for CAL 2024.
France Natural Gas Pricing Trends | 18 October 2022
The Cal 2023 natural gas market fell slightly last week, again due to a combination of above-normal temperatures, lower demand than in previous years at the same time of year and very high stock levels (over 90% on average in Europe). The weekly average price is reduced from €152.29/MWh to €151.22/MWh for CAL 2023 and rose from €113.37/MWh to €118.17/MWh for CAL 2024
France Oil Pricing Trends | 18 October 2022
The price of Brent crude oil eased last week after the sharp rise in prices on Friday 7 October. Analysts believe that OPEC+'s projections for oil production cuts would ultimately be less radical than announced by the cartel. The fear of a global recession linked to energy prices is making market players feverish. The weekly average price of Brent crude oil rose from 94.90 €/bbl to 96.40 €/bbl.
