France Power Pricing Trends | 2 May 2023

The power market fell at the beginning of last week, before rising again on Thursday. Last Tuesday, the French nuclear safety authority (ASN) took a position on the control strategy submitted by EDF regarding the risk of stress
corrosion between 2023 and 2025. At the end of the week, EDF announced its nuclear production level for the first quarter of 2023 at 85.2 TWh, down by 6.5 TWh compared to Q1 2022. The weekly average price decreased from 212.40 €/MWh to 189.09 €/MWh for CAL 2024 and from 137.03 €/MWh to 130.19 €/MWh for CAL 2025.

France Natural Gas Pricing Trends | 2 May 2023

The natural gas market rose slightly last week. French gas stocks are at around 35%, up 3 points in a week. At the European level, stocks filled up in April at a slower pace than in previous years. The weekly average price increased from 55.29 €/MWh to 55.35 €/MWh for CAL 2024 and from 47.78 €/MWh to 48.23 €/MWh for CAL 2025.

France Oil Pricing Trends | 2 May 2023

The price of Brent crude oil fell last week. Following the publication of the US GDP increase of 1.1%, whereas it was estimated to be in the order of 2%, the market remains concerned about the weak economic outlook and a drop in oil demand. The weekly average price of Brent crude oil fell from 76.25 €/bbl to 72.69 €/bbl.
