France Power Pricing Trends | 20 September 2021
Despite easing of CO2 prices and on the coal markets, prices for the electricity futures market continued to rise last week, drained of any downward momentum by rises in natural gas futures. In the middle of the week, a fire broke out on the Franco-British IFA1 electric cable, putting it out of commission & causing a surge in prices on the market. Average weekly prices moved from 97.43 €/MWh to 104.23€/MWh for CAL 2022 & from 72.19 €/MWh to 75.06 €/MWh for CAL 2023.
France Natural Gas Pricing Trends | 20 September 2021
Last week, the natural gas futures market continued to rise. This is due to the still low level of European gas stocks, coupled with rising fears of an early winter. Gas prices in Europe are currently higher than in Asia. It is hoped that more LNG will arrive in Europe. Average weekly prices surged from 36.98 €/MWh to 40.54 €/MWh for CAL 2022 and from 23.86 €/MWh to 24.97 €/MWh for CAL 2023.
France Oil Pricing Trends | 20 September 2021
The price of Brent rose last week in anticipation of higher global demand, due to oil production in the Gulf of Mexico remaining at a standstill in the wake of Hurricane Ida. The average weekly price of Brent rebounded from 60.86 €/bbl to 63.42 €/bbl.
