Faced with falling temperatures, demand is rising. However, prices have not increased as much as in December 2022 during the last cold snap. Indeed, the means of production are more important (nuclear production capacity above 43 GW last week against 35 GW at the beginning of December 2022). Large electricity imports from Germany also ease market prices across the EU. The weekly average price decreased from 198.54 €/MWh to 184.28 €/MWh for CAL 2024 and from 150.96 €/MWh to 141.24 €/MWh for CAL 2025.
France Natural Gas Pricing Trends | 23 January 2023
The natural gas market was on an upward trend last week. With the cold wave, demand naturally increased, European gas stocks fell slightly (79% at the end of the week). The weekly average price shrank from 70.08 €/MWh to 64.07 €/MWh for CAL 2024 and from 56.60 €/MWh to 50.91 €/MWh for CAL 2025.
France Oil Pricing Trends | 23 January 2023
The price of Brent rose last week. Chinese demand, especially in the transport sector, is on the rise. In addition, economic growth forecasts in the United States are emerging with a view to stabilizing the level of interest rates. The weekly average price of Brent crude oil increased from 76.16 €/bbl to 76.51 €/bbl.
