France Power Pricing Trends | 23 January 2023

Faced with falling temperatures, demand is rising. However, prices have not increased as much as in December 2022 during the last cold snap. Indeed, the means of production are more important (nuclear production capacity above 43 GW last week against 35 GW at the beginning of December 2022). Large electricity imports from Germany also ease market prices across the EU. The weekly average price decreased from 198.54 €/MWh to 184.28 €/MWh for CAL 2024 and from 150.96 €/MWh to 141.24 €/MWh for CAL 2025.
