France Power Pricing Trends | 23 October 2023
The power market stabilized last week. The Baseload CAL 24 is close to €140/MWh, the same price level as at the beginning of September. However, players remain attentive to developments in the Middle East. The weekly average price grew from 138.35 €/MWh to 141.28 €/MWh for CAL 2024 and fell from 125.77 €/MWh to 124.05 €/MWh for CAL 2025.
France Natural Gas Pricing Trends | 23 October 2023
The natural gas market rose in a measured fashion last week. Indeed, the price hike triggered by the high level of uncertainty surrounding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict was contained by positive signals: gas storage in Europe at 98.2%, rising LNG exports from Norway and the USA, and relatively low gas demand for the season. The weekly average price increased from 52.64 €/MWh to 55.04 €/MWh for CAL 2024 and from 47.36 €/MWh to 47.38 €/MWh for CAL 2025.
France Oil Pricing Trends | 23 October 2023
Brent crude rose last week, driven by the geopolitical risk premium in the Middle East. Market players fear that Iran could re-enter the conflict, which would imply new sanctions on oil exports. On the other side of the world, US oil reserves have fallen, prompting the US to lift a sanction against Venezuela to increase oil production by around 25%. The weekly average price of Brent crude oil increased from 82.94 €/bbl to 86.92 €/bbl.
