France Power Pricing Trends | 24 April 2023
The power market dropped last week. The Baseload CAL24 price fell back below €200/MWh on Friday. On the same day, EDF confirmed its nuclear power production target for 2023, despite the strikes. However, the level of
production remains historically low (2023 forecast between 300 and 330 TWh, whereas annual nuclear production exceeded 500 TWh between 2010 and 2019). The weekly average price decreased from 223.75 €/MWh to 212.40 €/MWh for CAL 2024 and from 140.74 €/MWh to 137.03 €/MWh for CAL 2025.
France Natural Gas Pricing Trends | 24 April 2023
The natural gas market declined slightly last week. In France, the LNG terminals have all come back into service, with French stocks at around 32%, up 4 points in a week. At the European level, it is estimated that stocks would eventually be full by early summer, if US exports remain high and natural gas demand remains low. The weekly average price decreased from 56.52 €/MWh to 55.29 €/MWh for CAL 2024 and from 48.04 €/MWh to 47.78 €/MWh for CAL 2025.
France Oil Pricing Trends | 24 April 2023
The price of Brent crude oil fell last week. The market is nervous about expectations of lower oil demand in the event that the FED announces new measures to counter inflation in the US. The weekly average price of Brent crude oil fell from 78.32 €/bbl to 76.25 €/bbl.
