France Power Pricing Trends | 25 October 2021
The electricity futures market relaxed last week, however CAL 2022 prices remained above €130/MWh. The market closed higher on Friday after EDF announced the shutdown of the Chinon 2 nuclear reactor, in addition to the extension of the shutdown of the Gravelines plant. Average weekly prices moved from 135.22 €/MWh to 134.55 €/MWh for CAL 2022 & from 82.55 €/MWh to 84.24 €/MWh for CAL 2023.

The natural gas futures market remained high last week. European stocks are still low (20 points lower than last year). Russia has not booked any additional gas capacity via Ukraine to European countries for November. In addition, a failure was reported in a gas field in the North Sea. All this does not calm fears of a shortage of natural gas this winter in Europe. Average weekly prices surged from 53.83 €/MWh to 55.80 €/MWh for CAL 2022 and from 31.40 €/MWh to 33.27 €/MWh for CAL 2023.
France Oil Pricing Trends | 25 October 2021
The price of Brent crude oil rose last week. On one side, OPEC maintained its current production level. On the other hand, US oil stocks are low. The gap between supply and demand is widening. The average weekly price of Brent rebounded from 72.42 €/bbl to 73.18 €/bbl.
