The power market declined last week. Market participants remain optimistic, as temperatures are currently mild in the coming days and French nuclear production is stabilizing at over 41 GW. The weekly average price decreased from 364.29 €/MWh to 306.09 €/MWh for CAL 2023 and from 293.56 €/MWh to 269.26 €/MWh for CAL 2024.

France Natural Gas Pricing Trends | 27 December 2022

The natural gas market declined last week as warmer weather set in across Europe. In addition, the EU has managed to agree on a gas price cap of €180/MWh to be applied conditionally from 15 February 2023, which reassures market players. The weekly average price decreased from 124.46 €/MWh to 92.23 €/MWh for CAL 2023 and from 98.23 €/MWh to 80.48 €/MWh for CAL 2024.

France Oil Pricing Trends | 27 December 2022

The price of Brent crude oil rose at the end of last week. Demand for oil by foreign currency holders is stronger at a time when the dollar is weakening. The announcement of the "blizzard of the century" in the USA is pushing up oil prices. The weekly average price of Brent crude oil increased from 75.78 €/bbl to 76.53 €/bbl.
