France Power Pricing Trends | 28 November 2021
The futures market for electricity has been robustly bullish last week, in no small part due to the price of gas & CO2. The latter product has reached a new record, clearing the 74 €/t line last Thursday. This speculative increase follows Germany’s open request for a Europe-wide 60 €/t minimum price, in the absence of a Europewide agreement. Average weekly prices moved from 141.80 €/MWh to 156.45 €/MWh for CAL 2022 & from 88.88 €/MWh to 93.35 €/MWh for CAL 2023.

The tension around the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline is palpable, in a context where European storage have only reached 72.60 % (against 91.70% this time last year). Average weekly prices surged from 54.07 €/MWh to 55.09 €/MWh for CAL 2022 and from 32.84 €/MWh to 33.80 €/MWh for CAL 2023.
France Oil Pricing Trends | 28 November 2021
Oil trends have dropped last week due to the worries surrounding the appearance of a new variant in multiple countries. The average weekly price of Brent dropped from 71.19 €/bbl to 70.92 €/bbl.
