Electricity prices on the futures market have risen sharply in the past week. The market is anticipating high volatility in the price of CO2 in August. With European governments expected to reduce auctioning volumes by more than 50% compared to July in order to avoid price collapses during the summer period, the reduction in allowances could finally cause price spikes during the month. The average weekly price moved from 72.16 €/MWh to 75.59 €/MWh for CAL 2022 and 60.85 €/MWh to 62.97 €/MWh for CAL 2023.
France Natural Gas Pricing Trends | 3 August 2021
Natural gas prices rose last week. Market players are concerned about the low level of gas stocks in Europe (55% of storage capacity to date). Average weekly prices dropped from 25.50 €/MWh to 26.85 €/MWh for CAL 2022 and from 19.45 €/MWh to 20.12 €/MWh for CAL 2023.
France Oil Pricing Trends | 3 August 2021
Although COVID figures are rising in several countries, oil demand forecasts in the US are being kept high, causing the price of oil to rise in the markets. The average weekly price of Brent decreased from 60.73 €/bbl to 63.42 €/bbl.
