France Power Pricing Trends | 30 October 2023
The power market fell last week. Electricity generation conditions are good, with an improvement in nuclear generation expected at the start of the week, and wind generation on the rise given the windy conditions seen in Europe over the last few days. The weekly average price fell from 141.28 €/MWh to 135.38 €/MWh for CAL 2024 and from 124.05 €/MWh to 1119.90 €/MWh for CAL 2025.

The natural gas market fell slightly last week. Despite fears of a possible escalation of the LNG exports in the medium term, the supply/demand ratio for natural gas in Europe is high, with European stocks 99% full. Pressure is
easing slightly in the face of a risk premium that remains high. The weekly average price decreased from 55.04 €/MWh to 54.33 €/MWh for CAL 2024 and grew from 47.38 €/MWh to 47.39 €/MWh for CAL 2025.

Although prices continue to fluctuate according to the situation in the Middle East, the fears of market players focus on sluggish global growth. The weekly average price of Brent crude oil decreased from 86.92 €/bbl to 83.68 €/bbl.
