France Energy Pricing Trends - 5 Oct. 2021

France Power Pricing Trends | 5 October 2021

The electricity futures market is at its highest level ever, driven by soaring natural gas and coal prices. The demand for coal is currently even higher with the massive use of coal-fired power plants in the UK. Indeed, the country has to compensate for the lack of electricity coming from France following the damage of one of the electric cables linking the two states.  Average weekly prices moved from 109.06 €/MWh to 127.57 €/MWh for CAL 2022 & from 76.26 €/MWh to 84.02 €/MWh for CAL 2023.

France Natural Gas Pricing Trends | 5 October 2021

The concern of market players is reflected in the surge in natural gas prices: low European stocks as temperatures fall, slowing Russian gas supplies, the feared tension on the Asian market following the fire at an LNG complex in Malaysia.  Average weekly prices surged from 43.59 €/MWh to 52.97 €/MWh for CAL 2022 and from 26.35 €/MWh to 30.39 €/MWh for CAL 2023.

France Oil Pricing Trends | 5 October 2021

Brent crude oil prices rose last week. The rise is still held by the imbalance between supply and demand. Oil production in the Gulf of Mexico is struggling to recover.  The average weekly price of Brent rebounded from 64.83€/bbl to 67.59 €/bbl.
