France Power Pricing Trends | 6 December 2021
The electricity futures market continued to rise last week, reaching a new all-time record of €180.72/MWh on Friday. This surge in prices is still buoyed by the continuous rise in natural gas and carbon prices. The price of CO2 was close to 80 €/t last Thursday, driven among other things by the closure of delivery options on 15 December. Average weekly prices moved from 156.45 €/MWh to 171.39 €/MWh for CAL 2022 & from 93.35 €/MWh to 100.26 €/MWh for CAL 2023.
France Natural Gas Pricing Trends | 6 December 2021
The natural gas futures market rose last week. The certification process for the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline is suspended by the German regulator. In return, Gazprom announced that they have still not reserved gas capacity heading to Europe. The situation is tense while the weather forecast is frostier than usual for the season. Average weekly prices surged from 55.09 €/MWh to 56.93 €/MWh for CAL 2022 and from 33.80 €/MWh to 35.11 €/MWh for CAL 2023.
France Oil Pricing Trends | 6 December 2021
Oil trends reversed last week after OPEC announced a production increase from January 2022, but also in the face of the market’s fear of a global epidemic bounce. The average weekly price of Brent dropped from 70.62 €/bbl to 62.37 €/bbl.
