France Power Pricing Trends | 7 August 2023
The power market declined last week, following the trend in the natural gas and carbon markets. The price per tonne of CO2 fell back after the gains made in the last two weeks of July. The weekly average price decreased from 168.62 €/MWh to 159.83 €/MWh for CAL 2024 and from 144.02 €/MWh to 140.42 €/MWh for CAL 2025.

The natural gas market has fallen over the past week, with the CAL24 TTF holding below €50/MWh since Tuesday. The high level of gas stocks is easing the market. French gas stocks are at around 77%. At European level, stocks are 86% full. The weekly average price decreased from 52.39 €/MWh to 49.71 €/MWh for CAL 2024 and from 46.51 €/MWh to 45.52 €/MWh for CAL 2025.
France Oil Pricing Trends | 7 August 2023
The price of Brent crude continued to rise last week, following the announcement of further production cuts by Russia and Saudi Arabia, starting in September. The weekly average price of Brent crude oil increased from 75.08 €/bbl to 77.54 €/bbl.
