France Power Pricing Trends | 7 March 2022
The electricity futures market continued to inflate last week. The price of electricity follows the trend of fossil fuels. The concurrent drop in the price of carbon was the only factor that was still helping curb the surge in electricity prices. The Baseload CAL23 price exceeded €200/MWh on Friday. Average weekly prices rose from 181.06 €/MWh to 191.81 €/MWh for CAL 2023 & from 125.65 €/MWh to 119.41 €/MWh for CAL 2024.
France Natural Gas Pricing Trends | 7 March 2022
The natural gas futures market remains bullish. Market participants fear a disturbance in Russian natural gas exports in reaction to expanding international sanctions. The drop in temperatures at the beginning of the month did nothing to improve the situation on the markets. Average weekly prices rose from 62.03 €/MWh to 72.86 €/MWh for CAL 2023 & from 41.35 €/MWh to 44.95 €/MWh for CAL 2024.
France Oil Pricing Trends | 7 March 2022
Oil prices rose sharply last week. Russian oil purchases are complicated by the implementation of sanctions. Several shipments of Russian oil have failed to find buyers in spite of a price per barrel much lower than the Brent market index. The average weekly price of Brent grew from 86.76 €/bbl to 98.97 €/bbl.
