France Power Pricing Trends | 9 August 2021
Electricity prices on the futures market continue to rise, exceeding €81/MWh last Friday. This surge is due to a combination of price increases in the natural gas, coal and CO2 markets. During the holiday period, activity on the carbon market is slow and supply is rather limited, so prices remain strong and reached 56.58 €/t on August 6th. The average weekly price moved from 75.59 €/MWh to 79.51 €/MWh for CAL 2022 and 62.97 €/MWh to 65.18 €/MWh for CAL 2023.
France Natural Gas Pricing Trends | 9 August 2021
The combination of historically low inventories, disruptions in gas flows and a drop in LNG deliveries in Europe propelled natural gas prices to new highs at the end of the week. Average weekly prices dropped from 26.85 €/MWh to 28.57 €/MWh for CAL 2022 and from 20.12 €/MWh to 20.82 €/MWh for CAL 2023.
France Oil Pricing Trends | 9 August 2021
Oil fell significantly last week. OPEC's production increase did not meet the expected demand for oil, due to the proliferation of the Delta variant and the new measures imposed in Asia. The average weekly price of Brent decreased from 63.42 €/bbl to 60.26 €/bbl.
