German Energy Pricing Trends - 7 May 2021
7 May 2021
German Electricity Pricing | 7 May 2021
Electricity prices continued to climb unabated. Electricity prices followed the rising prices of CO2, gas and coal.
German Natural Gas Pricing | 7 May 2021
Gas prices rose moderately by a little more than 1%. The cold weather, very low storage levels at this time of year and increased demand resulted in rising prices.
German CO2 Pricing | 7 May 2021
CO2 price exceeded the 50 €/t mark for the first time on Wednesday. Political decisions - e.g. in Germany - to tighten the climate targets were partly responsible.
German Oil Pricing | 7 May 2021
Further concerns about demand in India resulted in rising oil prices. On the other hand, there was increased demand from China and the USA.
German Coal Pricing | 7 May 2021
Coal prices also rose in the reporting week. The import ban on Australian coal and the continued suspension of economic dialogue between Australia and China had a price supportive effect.
