Poland Electricity Pricing Trends for October 2021
In October the electricity future pricing for 2022 hit another record high and fluctuated in between 418 to 462 PLN / MWh (ending the month with 421 PLN/MWh) in comparison to price range of 378 to 433 PLN / MWh for the same future contract traded in previous month. The average CO2 price dropped to 59 EUR from 62 EUR in prior month. At the beginning of the month Cal2022 reached its historic peak of about 462 PLN/ MWh, following record high coal and CO2 prices, which then eased later in the month.
Poland Natural Gas Pricing Trends for October 2021
In October the natural gas futures for 2022 fluctuated in between 239 to 334 PLN / MWh (with 239 PLN/MWh at the end of the month) versus 164 to 274 PLN / MWh in prior month. The Cal2022 prices reached its peak of 334 PLN/MWh at the beginning of the month, which reversed and dropped within just one day by 20%, following statement from the Russian president, that Gazprom can start to pump more gas to Europe.
