NUS Consulting Australia
NUS Consulting Group's Australian Office was established in 1966. NUS was the first energy management and sustainability consultancy in the country. Today, our team consists of over 20 experienced professionals located in our Chatswood Office (approximately 12 km north of Sydney). In addition to our Sydney Office, we also maintain a presence in Melbourne. Our Australian team provides comprehensive energy management and sustainability services to over 500 commercial and industrial clients across Australia.
The Australian energy market is both deregulated and highly competitive. The National Electricity Market covers five interconnected regions on the East Coast of Australia and accounts for 80% of national consumption. Each region has different market pricing. Western Australia and Northern Territory are not interconnected to the NEM owing to geography but have their own deregulated markets and regulations. Due to its abundance, coal traditionally made up the bulk of the country's power generation. However, over the past several years, renewable generation has expanded swiftly as the sustainability initiatives have taken hold. As a result, navigating and leveraging Australian energy market opportunities requires detailed knowledge of local regulations, market drivers, and government policy initiatives.
NUS's Australian office manages in excess of 2 TWh of annual energy consumption and runs hundreds of energy tenders per year on behalf of clients. For large commercial and industrial clients, the Australian team offers support services for progressive purchasing contracts, including market monitoring, risk management, and energy trading. The team coordinates these activities with NUS's other offices to provide seamless, integrated procurement and risk management services to international clients. In addition to providing domestic clients with energy management and sustainability support, the Australian team also provides services to the APAC Region.
The Australian team also assists clients with renewable energy and sustainability initiatives. Specifically, NUS provides clients with support in developing their sustainability strategy as well as implementation, including the purchase of Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), implementing both on-site and off-site power purchase agreements and virtual power purchase agreements.
NUS's Australian office is focused on providing clients with exceptional levels of service and market expertise to support their cost management and sustainability objectives.
