NUS Consulting United Kingdom
NUS Consulting Group's UK operations were established in 1965, making it the group's first European office as well as the first energy and sustainability consultancy in the UK market. Our energy professionals work from our London office based in Redhill – located 8 miles from Gatwick Airport, 3 miles from the M25 and 30 minutes by train from central London.
Our UK based team provides a full suite of energy management (procurement, risk management, budgeting, non-commodity/energy tax optimisation, invoice processing/validation and online energy reporting), and together with our European offices, sustainability (GHG inventory, Net Zero pathways including decarbonisation and implementation) and compliance services (e.g. Energy Efficiency Directive Article 8, ESOS, etc.) to our 400+ commercial and industrial clients located in the UK, the Republic of Ireland and across Europe. Our diverse client base means that our teams have a depth of experience and knowledge to swiftly and efficiently identify and implement solutions to improve a client's financial, operational, and environmental performance, across multiple business sectors.
We provide bureau services, processing and validating in excess of 250,000 utility invoices per annum from UK and Republic of Ireland utility suppliers and over the last 12-months our team has recovered circa £9 million in refunds and savings on our clients’ behalf. The UK office incorporates the operation of our global online Energy Information System (NUSdirect), providing clients tools to track and monitor their energy usage and expenditure.
Our European Risk Management (ERM) department is responsible for managing over £500 million of UK & Ireland annual client energy expenditure as well as managing multiple strategic pan-European procurement projects. In addition, our ERM department has developed and manages our bespoke, flexible procurement portfolio products, which provides members with the option to receive 100% certified renewable electricity.
Our consulting and analytical teams provide clients support in reviewing non-commodity charges as well as purchasing green energy either bundled within a supply contract or unbundled through the tendering and purchase of energy attribute certificates (EACs). Our UK team has supported clients in their decarbonisation journeys by successfully tendering and negotiating corporate power purchase agreements (PPAs) for over 80,000 MWh from new renewable generation assets in the last 12 months alone.
Our experienced Energy and Sustainability Services (ESS) department provides UK and European support with energy audits, implementation of energy efficiency measures and installation of onsite generation technologies, along with sustainability, carbon tracking, and compliance requirements, including the GHG Inventory of scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, ESOS, ISO 50001, SECR, CCA, EII Exemption schemes and Heat Networks, as well as international compliance and reporting for CDP, EED Article 8, and EU-ETS.
