France Power Pricing Trends | 12 July 2021
The beginning of the week saw a drop in prices induced by carbon and gas trends. Unfortunately, this didn’t persist. It was unlikely that it would, pending reforms of the carbon market. The average weekly price increased on balance from 73.82 €/MWh to 74.17 €/MWh for CAL 2022, but regressed slightly from 62.82 €/MWh to 62.56 €/MWh for CAL 2023.
France Natural Gas Pricing Trends | 12 July 2021
Gas reserves are recovering all too slowly (+2.2% compared to the previous week), thus keeping levels low for the period (55% of capacity against 83% last year). Prices remain at high levels, despite a decline at the beginning of the week, similar to what happened for electricity. Average weekly prices rose from 25.36 €/MWh to 25.78 €/MWh for CAL 2022, but regressed slightly from 19.72 €/MWh to 19.54 €/MWh for CAL 2023.
France Oil Pricing Trends | 12 July 2021
The price of Brent changed very little from the previous week, even while U.S. inventories fell. The gridlock blocking an OPEC+ deal was felt during the week, with the price closing on Friday lower than it was Monday. The average weekly price of Brent increased from 63.24 €/bbl to 63.35 €/bbl.
