France Power Pricing Trends | 30 August 2021
Carbon reached a new record price last Friday with a closing price of 58.96 €/t. In tandem with the increase in the price on the natural gas market, the electricity market indexes are at record highs (87.00 €/MWh on 27 August). The average weekly price moved from 84.96 €/MWh to 85.21 €/MWh for CAL 2022 and 68.34 €/MWh to 69.11 €/MWh for CAL 2023.

The rise in prices continued last week. The market is still fearing a harsh winter due to the low level of gas storage for the season. In addition, the European Union has asked Gazprom to cede part of Nord Stream 2 in order to comply with European legislation, which could increase tensions around the delivery of Russian natural gas. Average weekly prices surged from 31.95 €/MWh to 32.12 €/MWh for CAL 2022 and decreased from 22.51 €/MWh to 22.50 €/MWh for CAL 2023.
France Oil Pricing Trends | 30 August 2021
Crude oil prices climbed on Friday after a small pause, driven by renewed optimism about demand and supply disruptions in the Gulf of Mexico. The average weekly price of Brent rebounded from 57.57 €/bbl to 60.60 €/bbl.
