On-Site Energy Audits

What is an on-site energy audit?

On-site energy audits are a comprehensive examination of a buildingโ€™s or facilityโ€™s energy usage and management systems with the goal of identifying opportunities to cut energy costs and reduce carbon emissions. These audits typically target energy efficiency improvements in HVAC, building operations insulation, roofing, windows, manufacturing processes, equipment, and lighting.

How can an on-site energy audit benefit my organization?

Site audits involve visiting a facility to inspect the building, installed equipment, on-site processes and other energy-consuming activities. Consultation with local staff members enhances the analysis and compliments the findings. This leads to the development of a detailed energy efficiency report which provides recommendations to improve energy use, including associated costs and pay-back calculations. The benefit is, therefore, understanding how your facility is currently operating in relation to energy use and, importantly, how you can improve its energy efficiency.

What are the typical outcomes of an energy audit?

It is important to identify recommendations across all forms to ensure that, if available, instantaneous changes can be made with little to no cost. Higher-cost projects can be targeted and implemented concurrently. For a typical facility, recommendations can include, but are not limited to, the following.

  • Behavioral Policies
  • IT Policies
  • Solar Film
  • Maintenance/Leak Surveys
  • Submetering
  • LED Lighting
  • Building Management Systems | BMS
  • Voltage Optimization
  • Power Factor Correction
  • Process Line Optimization
  • Air/Ground/Water Source Heat Pumps
  • Insulation Improvements
  • Double/Triple Glazing
  • Solar PV
  • Destratification Fans
